Lung
Cancer
Lung cancer remains the number
one cancer killer in Canada and around the world. Prevention
efforts, to reduce smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke,
are still considered the single most important step to control
lung cancer. Unfortunately, large numbers of Canadians (20,800
this year) will be diagnosed with lung cancer for many years
to come. The CACC believes it is time for this disease to receive
the public and political attention it deserves so that research,
best practices, and timely access to care will improve the survival
rate.
